This one-of-a-kind course goes beyond the laws & rules of concealed carry & actually provides methods of defending yourself against life-threatening situations. Open to anyone, this condensed course includes CA laws, dry-fire, live-fire, & realistic training scenarios exclusive to carrying a concealed handgun. Conducted indoors monthly at the Mother Lode Gun Club in Jamestown. Formally recognized by Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, & Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Offices & Angels Camp P.D. for new or renewing CCW licensing. Other counties have accepted our fantastic course of training - check with your licensing authority. This is no boring lecture! Cost: $70 /60
Returning CCW clients have the option of attending either the traditional course (above) or (we can modify) a tactical handgun course to satisfy their renewing requirements. Contact us for details.
Utah’s 5-year affordable concealed carry license is honored in over 30 states & not gun specific. 4-hour course Cost: $90 (return WTS clients from our CA CCW class get $5 off.)
WTS offers what we feel are the finest firearms courses available. Whether a beginner or advanced shooter, these all day courses are very detailed and comprehensive, affordably priced, professional, safe, and fun. Our tactical handgun series takes you to an exciting new level with each course. Our small class size gives you the personal attention you deserve. Most students begin with the Tactical Handgun I course - we do have some firearms available to rent, including holsters and equipment for an additional fee.
By far our most popular course, this outstanding training guarantees to improve your skill, confidence & proficiency with a handgun. Loading/unloading, weapons presentation, shooting platform, delivery system, malfunctions, practical defensive techniques, front-sight & instinctive shooting are just some of the topics. This is the first in our Tactical Handgun Series that has become so popular. Whether a beginner or an advanced shooter that desires to become more proficient, you may discover how much you don't know about your gun!
This is a very detailed course. Some schools offer this course over 2-days and at five times the price. This is the course we recommend the most to provide that core foundation necessary. Basic/intermediate level. 350 rounds. All day.

For most students, the Tactical Handgun I is the course we recommend for beginners and we do rent equipment for those classes. For those that need a shorter, more affordable option to learn about handguns, WTS offers private lessons with one of our contract instructors, or the Women and Handguns Course is an introductory course for women only.
Take your skills from Tac I and put them to practical use with SWAT tactics, moving & shooting, standing, prone, and on the ground, left hand/right hand shooting & reaction drills. From Tac 1, we advance to applying the foundation techniques to reality-based self-defense tactics that may come into play when protecting one's self or family from harm. Includes props, moving targets, and a variety of shooting stations. Safe & fun! Must complete Tactical Handgun I prior to attending (or approval from Mr. Popke). What can we say, but this class is too fun to describe! Open to the die-hard graduates of Phase II only, our civilian version of SWAT is a blast! We pick up where the Tactical 2 Course leaves off and includes close quarter battle drills. Advanced shooting and fun opportunities reward this special group of shooters for their commitment to improving their handgun skills at WTS. Includes shooting multiple targets to shooting from a moving vehicle and challenging drills using steel reaction targets. 700 min-? rounds.

An excellent course on defensive & offensive use of the weapon of choice for home protection and self-defense in the home. Comprehensive training on beginning & intermediate shotgun tactics & usage. 250 rounds low-base birdshot. Cost: $135.00
Teaches combining the shooter & rifle as one. Includes proper shooting positioning, trigger control, breathing, read & adjust optics, & shooting under adverse conditions just to name a few. Designed for rifles 223 or larger with a scope w/MOA adjustments. 200 rounds / 8 hours Cost: $170.00
Sniper 2 is designed to train the graduates from Sniper / Marksman I to engage the target from 300 yards and closer. Using stealth and hunting techniques, the sniper will be able to shoot from the following sniper platforms: prone, sitting, kneeling, and standing positions. Training includes shooting from behind barricades and from sniper platforms, team shooting (sniper/observer), and engaging threats in the shoot house. 250 rounds /8 hours Cost: $190.00
This 2-gun course is the ultimate in personal protection, giving you the essential skills to effectively transition between your primary & secondary weapon systems. Designed to train the shooter to engage the threat with a primary gun (rifle) and transition to a secondary gun (pistol) when experiencing a low ammunition count, a malfunction on your primary gun, or a close quarter contact. Includes speed and tactical reloading, weapons failure drills, threat assessment with both primary and secondary weapons, and transition shooting on the move. For men and women who want to learn to elude & escape a potential threat by using your surroundings in urban or rural situations. Techniques include camouflage, how to adapt to surroundings, controlling fear, moving among the enemy w/o being seen and much more. Course takes place in late afternoon and evening since most crime occurs at night. Great class to build confidence & skill. Cost: $100.00
A knife is the most dangerous weapon to carry without a license and a common weapon used by criminals. We gun lovers cannot always have our firearm with us. Learn offensive/ defensive techniques to fight off an attacker & protect yourself and your loved ones. Cost: $100.00
For graduates of Intro to Knife Fighting, this course takes training to the next level. Training includes strikes, blocks, counters, disarming, and takedowns. Cost: $150.00
This course teaches students to effectively use a handgun in offense and defense of their home. Students learn to enter a room, building, or structure safely, effectively engage a threat, if present, and clear the area of any existing dangers. With the alarming increase of home invasion robberies, this course offers realistic training methods that may prevent a tragedy from occurring. This fun, all-day course is conducted at the new WTS shoot house. Successful completion of Tactical Handgun Phase I required. We highly recommend this course.
